I don't like inline fuses hanging everywhere as I'm sure you guys don't, but if I were unsure I would just run one anyway in this case, better safe than sorry. i ended up making a panel from a piece of aluminum angle that bolted to the dash and sunk the vents into it so it could act as a valence panel for the ducts. They aint very cheap.
